S-CRAFT BESPOkE Internal Shutters

-
When you want to bring your imagination to light, S:CRAFT shutters are flexible to suit your tastes and requirements, with a variety of materials, colours, sizes and styles ensuring that there is a shutter for you.
Expect premium, made-to-measure shutters that give you the widest possible choice available…all wrapped up in a truly timeless style statement, exactly as you’d pictured it.
Your choice of shutter material and style will influence the design options available to you, as well as the windows themselves. Your local S:CRAFT retailer will advise you on both your design options and any optional extras you may wish to consider at a supplement.
Frame Options
There is a range of shutter frame styles and your S:CRAFT retailer will be able to advise on your options.
In some instances you may be restricted by the architecture of your window recesses and the type of windows you have in place. A professional surveyor will consider all the factors, including the more obvious ones such as the whether your window opens inwards or outwards and how far your window handles protrude from the window.
Your plantation shutters will be fitted in one of the three ways:
Inside Recess
Edge of Recess
Outside Recess
Shutter Panels
The configuration of your windows and the location of the transom bar will influence the number of shutter panels you need. Plantation shutters look as stunning from the outside as the inside, and the panels can be lined up to your window frames for a completely uniform look. All S:CRAFT shutters are made to measure, so you can be sure of a perfect fit.
Our panel installation styles are:
Single Shutter Panel
Bi-Fold Shutter Panels
Multi-Fold Shutter Panels
Louvre Sizes
The size of louvre you choose depends on your own personal choice, the suitability for the installation and the restrictions of the material you have selected.
You need to think about aesthetics and proportions, but also how much light and privacy you want. The smaller the louvres, the greater the privacy and less light. Larger louvres will give you a better view of outside and plenty of light but less privacy. The majority of customers tend to opt for a mid size louvre.
Sizes available:
47mm, 63mm, 76mm, 89mm, 114mm
Tilt Rods
All shutters, unless you have opted for solid panels, require a mechanism to enable you to adjust the light.
The tilt rod is the bar that runs down either the centre or offset to the left or right of your shutter panels. It will be facing into the room and will only operate the louvre section it is attached to. For example, if you have opted for a privacy rail (mid-rail) then you will have a tilt rod fitted to each separated section of louvres.
A silent tilt mechanism option is available as an upgrade.
Mid Rail
Adding a mid-rail can be a design choice to consider, as well as a practical inclusion for larger shutter installations.
Having a mid-rail allows you to tilt different sections of the shutter panel, meaning you can control the light to suit your taste. A mid-rail means that you can also keep the lower section closed, leaving the top open, providing privacy for the home when needed. They can be lined up with existing window features, and provide stability for larger windows or openings.
Accessories
Other options include hinges, catches, magnets and ring pulls which will be based on your choice of material and style, and whether you wish to match the shutters to your other furniture, for example door handles and light switches.
Supplements are charged for certain materials, for example nickel plated brushed hinges and stainless steel hinges.

You imagine it and we’ll bring it to life with a wide range of colours and finishes to suit a range of interiors
S:CRAFT plantation shutters are known for their quality of finish, as well as their versatility. No colour is impossible, no space is too awkward and no window too large for plantation shutters, crafted to suit your vision.
Although white shutters are the most popular choice, we know that you’ll have a design in your mind, which is why we offer a range of colours and finishes to suit every interior. We have 30 paints, 18 stains, and a custom colour option to choose from, although they are not all available in every material, so speak to your local S:CRAFT supplier to see what choices are open to you.
Let us inspire you with the styles, materials and colours to get premium, made-to-measure shutters just as you want them. All S:CRAFT shutters receive six coats of paint or stain, and a UV protective layer to reduce the chances of fading caused by sunlight.
Painted Colours
Available in every shutter material, painted finishes are available in a range of warm and contemporary colours that we hope will fuel the vision for your home. Based on which material you choose, whether hardwood, MDF or ABS, there may be a reduced number of colour choices available.
Each painted finish receives several coats, as well as a protective final coat, to limit the fading caused by the sun, ensuring you will be satisfied with the look of your finished shutters for years to come.
Custom Colour
Don’t just settle for white shutters, why not choose a colour that suits your personality? From vibrant reds and eye-catching oranges, through to beautiful blues and dainty pinks, let your imagination run free with our custom colour option.
All you’ll need to do is supply a sample of the colour you want to your local S:CRAFT supplier, who will be able to attach this to your order. The sample will need to be a solid block of colour for the highest quality colour match possible, ensuring your shutters will be crafted to meet your expectations.
Wood Stains
Only available in our premium hardwood ranges, if you are looking for more of a classic look for your shutters, then a wood stain may be the choice for you. The beautiful grain really comes to the fore with a stain, and is particularly popular for finishing interiors that already make use of hardwood products.
From lighter tones such as Limed White and White Matt, through to dark stains such as Wenge and Matt Black, there is a broad range of wood stains to suit your taste.

Custom Colour
S:CRAFT shutters are a timeless style statement. If you are trying to achieve a specific look to match your existing colour scheme but are hampered by colour limitations found with other companies, then don’t worry! No shade is impossible with S:CRAFT thanks to the custom colour option.
As well as being expertly crafted for your space, the colour matching service means S:CRAFT shutters can meet your design choices. We take pride in the quality of the shutters we supply, which is why custom colours receive several coats of paint, as well as a UV resistant layer, preventing fading caused by direct sunlight. We can match any high street paint including major brands.
Room Darkening
Versatile and insulating, shutters do still let a small amount of light into your home, even when closed, which is why S:CRAFT offer an integrated room darkening blind system. Sitting snugly within its own channel behind the shutter, the room darkening blind provides the functionality of blackout blinds combined with the contemporary look of standard shutters.
If you or your family struggle to sleep due to external light, then the room darkening system is a must. Virtually eliminating all external light from the room, it is ideal for shift workers who need to sleep during the day, as well as for nurseries and home cinemas.
Available for the majority of our shutter ranges, for full height and tier-on-tier shutter styles.
Silent Tilt Rod
If you are looking for a cleaner, more contemporary look for your shutters, the hidden (or “silent”) tilt rod option could be something to consider. Tilt rods are usually connected to each individual louvre with metal pins, allowing for an easy movement to control the light.
Rather than a visible rod, silent tilt controls the louvres by a mechanism within the panel itself, meaning that if you tilt one, the others move with it. For shutters with a mid-rail or tier-on-tier split, the different sections are still operated separately, as with the visible tilt rod option.
You can choose where the silent tilt is located, and for larger windows you could have more than one silent tilt section to your shutter for maximum versatility.
Fixed Louvres
Ideal for room dividers and wardrobe doors, if you wish to have fixed louvres as a a style statement, rather than for functional purposes. However, the visible or hidden tilt rod options are still the best choice if you wish to use your shutters for controlling the light, or provide controllable ventilation to your wardrobe.
